New Business Launch / APQP
- Streamlined product development and launch processes.
- High-quality standards with minimal risk to product quality, ability to meet customer demand, profitability.
- Enhanced collaboration and communication across departments.
- Utilize Gate Reviews to ensure each step in launch process is completed thoroughly.
New Business Launch / APQP Approach
Our approach to new business launches and APQP is a structured and collaborative process that involves all key stakeholders to ensure quality and efficiency. We start by understanding customer expectations, your goals, and product and equipment specifications to develop a comprehensive launch plan. Through APQP, we focus on quality planning, product design, and process optimization to reduce the chances of failure and ensure that your business or product meets customer expectations. Our team provides end-to-end support, from initial planning through to post-launch evaluation.
The 5 Phases / Gates of the APQP Process:
Phase 1: Plan & Define Program
Understanding customer requirements, defining the project’s scope and objectives, assessing feasibility, identifying potential risks, and creating a preliminary project plan to align all stakeholders and set the foundation for the product development process.
Phase 2: Product Design and Development
Creating a detailed product design that meets customer requirements, conducting design validations such as DFMEA, and preparing engineering specifications to ensure the product is ready for manufacturing and meets quality and performance standards.
Phase 3: Process Design and Development
Designing and validating manufacturing processes, creating process flow diagrams and PFMEAs, and developing control plans to ensure the production process can consistently produce products that meet quality and performance requirements.
Phase 4: Product and Process Validation
Verifying that the product and manufacturing processes meet all customer and quality requirements through activities such as pre-launch production trials, capability studies, and the Production Part Approval Process (PPAP).
Phase 5: Feedback, Assessment, and Corrective Actions
Monitoring production processes, gathering customer feedback, assessing product performance, and implementing corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement and sustained quality throughout full-scale production.
